ADMINISTRATION

The Borough's Administrative Offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Municipal Clerk acts as secretary of the Municipal Corporation and maintains custody of all minutes, books deeds, bonds, contracts and archival records of the municipal corporation. In addition, the Clerk is Secretary to the Governing Body and is responsible for preparing meeting agendas at the discretion of the Governing Body. The clerk must also keep an official record of the proceedings of every meeting; administer oaths of office; and process, record, file and, when necessary, advertise ordinances, resolutions and the municipal budget. The Municipal Clerk acts as the Chief Administrative Officer of all Elections and the Chief Registrar of Voters. The Clerk is also responsible for any other duties that may be imposed by state statutes and regulations or municipal ordinances or regulations.

COURT

Farmingdale Municipal Court is open Mondays and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 Noon and on Wednesdays from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Court Sessions are held on the third Mondays at 5:00 p.m.

PUBLIC WORKS

The Borough's Department of Public Works' employees work from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

All Public Works inquiries are handled through the Borough's Administrative Offices.

In case of an emergency, dial 9-1-1. For non-emergent matters that require attention, please contact the NJ State Police at 609-584-5000.

VITAL STATISTICS

The Borough's Office of Vital Statistics is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and is responsible for the issuance of birth, death and marriage certificates and marriage licenses.

Certified copies of Birth Certificates can only be issued if the birth is an at home birth that takes place in Farmingdale.

Certified copies of Marriage Licenses can only be issued if the marriage took place in the Borough of Farmingdale.

Certified copies of Death Certificates can only be issued if the death took place at home within the Borough of Farmingdale.

The fee for all certified copies is $15.00 per copy.

Marriage licenses can be issued if either the bride or the groom resides in the Borough of Farmingdale. The marriage can be performed at any location within the State of New Jersey. The fee for a marriage license is $28.00.

The Mayor of the Borough of Farmingdale is authorized to perform marriages. If you are interested in requesting this service, please visit our list of documents and download the Marriage Ceremony Request Form and fax it to the Borough's Administrative Offices.
CONSTRUCTION

The Borough's Construction positions are held by part-time employees. All inquires and inspections can be handled through Corinne DiCorcia at the Borough's Administrative Offices. All inspections are done on Tuesdays and Thursdays and can be scheduled by contacting the Borough's Administrative Offices. The Fire Officials are also responsible for smoke alarm and carbon monoxide inspections, which are required for resales and rentals. These inspections are performed on Wednesday evenings between the hours of 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. and can be arranged by contacting the Borough's Administrative Offices.

Certificates of Occupancy are required for new construction only. However, a smoke alarm and carbon monoxide inspection is required for resales and rentals. These inspections are performed on Wednesday evenings between the hours of 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. and can be arranged by contacting the Borough's Administrative Offices
FIRE OFFICIALS

The Borough's Fire Official positions are held by part time employees; Robert E. Lewis and Michael Johnston. These individuals are responsible for retail and commercial establishment fire inspections which are required annually and can be scheduled by contacting the Borough's Administrative Offices.
ZONING

The Borough's Zoning Officer position is held by a part-time employee. Information and inquiries may be made through the Borough's Administrative Offices. In addition, the Zoning Officer is available at Borough Hall on Wednesday evenings from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS CALENDAR

RECYCLING SCHEDULE

Sections 1 & 3 - 1st and 3rd Wednesdays
Sections 2 & 4 - 1st and 3rd Thursdays

The Borough has provided two recycling containers to each household as a result of a grant from the County of Monmouth. If you need to use additional containers, please use solid, lightweight recycling containers, without wheels, and no more than 30 lb. capacity for your recyclables. It would also be appreciated if holes could be drilled in the bottom of the containers to allow rainwater to drain. Finally, on the day of recycling, please leave your containers uncovered.

Your cooperation will assist our DPW employees in performing their jobs quickly and safely. Thank you for your help.

LEAF VACUUMING SCHEDULE

Leaves will be vacuumed beginning late October through December 15 - Leaf vacuuming will resume for the month of April - On a limited schedule.

HYDRANT FLUSHING

2nd Monday of each month - Weather Permitting

SNOW REMOVAL REMINDER

Section 13-11.1 of the Borough of Farmingdale Code states:
"All owners, tenants or occupants of lands abutting upon the sidewalks of all public streets or public places in the Borough shall remove or cause to be removed from the sidewalks in front of or abutting the lands all snow and ice within twelve (12) hours of daylight after the same shall have ceased to fall or form thereon."

In addition, to improve road safety and minimize travel delays for Farmingdale residents, we are reminding you that keeping cars off the road enables snowplows to maneuver more efficiently. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
